Chapter Continues Support of Hole-In-The-Wall Gang Camps

Continuing the Chapter tradition of support for the National Philanthropy, a $1200 check was presented to the Foundation in March 2006, which represents proceeds from the annual Monte Carlo Night fundraser held in November. In March, the annual Bachelor Auction was held, which will yield an additional donation.

In 2005 the Chapter ranked 5th in the Nation with a $3,300 donation. Fundraisers like the Bachelor Auction and Monte Carlo Night are the source for these donations In addition, the Chapter contributed oer 200 volunteer hours to the Painted Turtle Camp in Lake Hughes.  Overall, Phi Kappa Tau chapters donated $98,000 to the Camps in 2004/5.

Barn Remodel Project is DONE!

Phi  Kappa Tau has the most up-to-date fraternity house at Cal State Fullerton now that construction has completed on a $100,000 Barn Restoration Project. There is now a new “industrial-strength”  kitchen, two new bathrooms (one is outfitted for  disabled access, the other has 3 showers!), and two additional bedrooms, which  are carpeted and have been wired for high speed internet access. New exterior siding was applied to the areas in back of the house, with additional sheathing underneath to make the structure more earthquake-proof. Funded by the House  Corporation surplus, with the additional financing from the Phi Tau National Housing Fund, the project has been led by Rene Velasquez (S82), with assistance  by Dennis Lynaugh (F82) and Lee Huffman F93). The contractor is Dennis Blake (F68) and the architect/project advisor is Bruce Camino (83).

There  is a “Phase 2” already planned, to enhance the property even more. Read about it:  More pictures and floorplans can be viewed by  clicking here.
